Dr. Jos V.M. Welie

Dr. Welie is the President of the Château Saint André Center. He is a native of The Netherlands where he studied medicine (MMedS) and law (JD), both at Maastricht University, and philosophy (MA), philosophy of the humanities (MA) and health care ethics(PhD), all at the Radboud University Nijmegen. A Fulbright grant enabled him to study at Loyola University Chicago in the USA in 1988. In the subsequent decades he taught at a dozen different universities in The Netherlands, Italy, France, and the USA, most recently as Dean of the liberal arts honors college of Maastricht University, The Netherlands (2020-2022). He continues to serve serve as Professor of Interdisciplinary Normative Science at the latter university, and as Professor Emeritus of Medical Humanities at Creighton University’s School of Medicine (Omaha, USA). Dr Welie also serves as President of the St André International Center for Ethics and Integrity (USA/France) which is the principal partner of the Château Saint André Center in developing intensive ethics seminars on a variety of current ethical challenges. Dr. Linda S. Scheirton

Dr. Scheirton is a Senior Partner in the Chateau Saint André Center. She is an emerita professor in health care ethics of the Occupational Therapy Department at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, USA and a Founding Board Member of the  St André International Center for Ethics and Integrity (USA/France). Dr. Scheirton has taught health care ethics to a variety of health processions students, including medical, nursing, dental, pharmacy, occupational and physical therapy students. She has also taught leadership ethics and served as program professor at the Fischler College of Education of Nova Southeastern University in Ft Lauderdale, Florida, USA. She also has extensive experience with ethics committees in clinical care facilities, research universities, and professional associations.
